Our Mission Statement
The mission of the Kare Bears at SSIII Vista is to welcome new residents, provide information, support selected local charitable organizations, visit the sick and convalescing, and support Summerset III Vista residents, and assist with memorials.

♥ The Sunshine Committee ♥
The Sunshine Committee arranges a visit to gift a house plant or vase of fresh flowers, or mail a get well card to Summerset III residents who are recuperating from illness, injury or surgery or returning from hospital care.

♥ New Residents Committee ♥
The New Residents Committee will arrange a visit to gift nre residents of Summerset III with a tote bag of local information, plus the scoop on happenings in Summerset III, as well as answer questions that you may have about living here.

♥ Informational Programs Committee ♥
The Information Programs Committee members constantly search for programs with topics of interest to our residents. These programs are free to attend. Have an idea for a program? Contact a Chairperson or put your idea in the Kare Bear Drawer near the Activities Director’s Office.

♥ Memorial Committee ♥
Kare Bear members may assist at memorials for Summerset III residents that are held in the Clubhouse. Chair is Blanca Cordero.

Annual Events
♥ Shepherd’s Gate Collections ♥
Kare Bears collect and deliver donations from Summeret III residents of paper goods, cleaning supplies and other needed items for women & children escaping homelessness, addiction and abuse.
♥ Spooktacular Walk-a-thon & Bake Sale ♥
Our 2024 Halloween FUNdraiser Spooktacular Event was so successful that everyone including our HOA President, Kare Bear Members, Residents from all 4 Summerset communities, walkers and other participants overwhelmingly supported making this an annual event. Halloween 2025 will be our 2nd Annual Spooktacular Walk-a Thon and Bake Sale. We have a few new plans for 2025!
♥ Feed The Children ♥
We collect donations from Summerset III residents of non perishable food and deliver to an organization to be distributed to local families in need during the holiday season.
♥ Angel Tree ♥
Each holiday season, members set up a decorated tree in the Clubhouse Library and attach names and ages of 2 local Head Start preschool students. Residents may choose a student and purchase a gift for that child. Members in seasonal attire deliver the gifts prior to winter break.
Kare Bears is a 501c3 Non Profit Service Club. Monetary donations are very much appreciated and may be placed in the Kare Bear Drawer in the Clubhouse, or given to any Kare Bear Executive Board Member. Your donation may be tax deductible.
